Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: August 23, 2026
Welcome to Prizm. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Prizm mobile application ("Prizm," "we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account or using Prizm, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the application.
1. Eligibility
Prizm is intended only for individuals who are 18 years of age or older.
By creating an account, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 18 years old.
- The information you provide is accurate and up to date.
- You are legally permitted to use the Services under applicable law.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts found to be under the required age.
2. Your Account
You must register using a valid email address.
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials secure.
- All activities that occur under your account.
- Updating your account information when necessary.
You may not transfer or sell your account.
3. Community Standards
Prizm has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate others.
- Impersonate another person.
- Share false or misleading information.
- Upload illegal, abusive, hateful, or fraudulent content.
- Post sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise objectionable material.
- Spam users.
- Use automated tools or bots.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or interfere with the Services.
- Circumvent account restrictions or bans.
Prizm reviews all content reports within 24 hours. Violating content will be removed and the responsible account will be permanently suspended.
3a. AnonPost Content
Prizm includes a community posting feature called AnonPost. By using AnonPost, you agree to the following:
- You must be at least 18 years old to post or view AnonPost content.
- Posts appear only by anonhandle to other users. Posting under an anonhandle does not grant permission to post objectionable, harmful, or illegal content.
- Any post found to violate these Terms will be removed within 24 hours of being reported.
- Users who post objectionable content will have their accounts permanently ejected from the platform.
- You may report any post using the flag button on each post.
- You may block any anonhandle to hide all their content from your feed.
- You may delete your own posts at any time directly from the feed.
- To report abuse: support@prizmapp.org
4. User Content
You retain ownership of the photos, messages, and other content you upload.
By posting content, you grant Prizm a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, and display your content solely for operating and improving the Services.
You are solely responsible for the content you upload. You must have all necessary rights to any content you share.
4a. Location and Map Features
Prizm includes a map-based feature ("Spots") where users post public gathering locations.
- Location access is always opt-in. Prizm never accesses your GPS coordinates automatically.
- You must explicitly tap the location button each time if you wish to share your location. There is no automatic or persistent check-in.
- You may browse all posted Spots on the map without sharing your own location.
- You may block any other user to hide their Spots and prevent them from interacting with you.
- Revoke location access at any time in Settings → Prizm → Location.
4b. MeetGuard Safety Feature
Prizm includes an optional personal safety feature called MeetGuard that allows you to schedule a check-in before meeting someone. By using MeetGuard, you agree to the following:
Check-In Photos
- You may take up to two photos during a check-in (person and surroundings). These are uploaded securely to Prizm's servers and permanently deleted after 3 weeks.
- You are solely responsible for obtaining any consent required before photographing another person.
Live GPS Location
- Location sharing during MeetGuard is strictly opt-in. Your GPS coordinates are only captured if you explicitly enable the "Share live GPS" toggle.
- If enabled, coordinates are included in emergency alerts sent only to your trusted contacts and are not retained on Prizm's servers after the session ends.
Trusted Contacts
- Phone numbers you enter for trusted contacts are stored only on your device and are never uploaded to Prizm's servers.
- By adding a Prizm user as a trusted contact, you acknowledge that they may receive in-app emergency alerts if your session expires without confirmation.
Emergency Alerts
- Prizm pre-drafts SMS alerts on your device for you to send. Prizm does not send SMS independently.
- Prizm's servers may send push notifications to trusted contacts if your check-in window expires and no heartbeat is received from your device.
Emergency SOS
- During an active MeetGuard session, a manual SOS button is available that offers to call your local emergency services number.
- Prizm automatically determines the correct local emergency number (e.g., 911, 999, 112) based on your GPS location if GPS sharing is enabled, or your device's region setting otherwise. The lookup is performed entirely on-device.
- MeetGuard is a safety aid, not a substitute for emergency services. Always call your local emergency number in an emergency.
Prizm makes no warranty that MeetGuard will prevent harm or that emergency alerts will be received in all circumstances.
5. Messaging
Prizm includes real-time messaging powered by Supabase, a third-party backend infrastructure provider.
Messages are delivered and stored on Prizm's servers to enable reliable communication between users.
Prizm does not guarantee that all messages will be delivered or that message history will be preserved indefinitely. You should not rely on Prizm as the sole record of any important communication.
5a. Stories & Disappearing Content
Disappearing Messages Timer
- Either participant in a conversation may set a per-conversation disappearing messages timer (Off / 24 Hours / 7 Days / 90 Days).
- When a timer is active, all messages in that conversation older than the chosen duration are automatically deleted from both participants' devices and from Prizm's servers.
- When the timer is set or changed, the other participant is notified by a system message inside the conversation. Either party may adjust or disable the timer at any time.
- As with other disappearing content, no technology can guarantee that the other person has not retained messages by other means (for example, photographing the screen with another device). Do not share content you would not want retained.
6. Photos
Users may upload profile photos and other permitted images.
You may not upload:
- Illegal content.
- Content involving minors.
- Content that infringes intellectual property rights.
- Malware or harmful files.
Prizm reserves the right to remove content that violates these Terms.
7. Premium Subscription
Prizm offers optional Premium subscriptions ("Prizm Pro") and one-time purchases ("Feature Boost") available through the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Premium features may include additional functionality, customization, enhanced discovery features, or other benefits.
- Subscription pricing is displayed at the time of purchase and is charged to your Apple ID or Google account upon confirmation.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- On iOS, manage or cancel your subscription via Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. On Android, manage or cancel via the Google Play app → Payments & subscriptions.
- Subscription prices may change where permitted by applicable law, with advance notice provided.
- No refunds are provided except where required by law or by the applicable store's refund policies. For Apple purchases, visit reportaproblem.apple.com; for Google Play purchases, request a refund through Google Play's refund process.
Feature Boost is a one-time, non-refundable in-app purchase that provides temporary profile visibility enhancement.

17. Apple App Store
The following terms apply to your use of Prizm as obtained through Apple's App Store:
- These Terms are concluded between you and Prizm only, and not with Apple, Inc. ("Apple"). Apple is not responsible for Prizm or its content.

- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to Prizm or your use of it.
- You and Prizm acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple's subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and that, upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.
18. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Prizm shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in California, except where your local law grants you the right to bring a claim before the courts of your country of residence.
19. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Prizm and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses — including reasonable legal fees — arising out of or in any way connected with:
